Chester Hospital


Chester Hospital is better known as The Countess of Chester Hospital and it located on Liverpool Road in Chester. The hospital has 654 beds and provides a range of medical service sto over 445,000 people covering Chester, Western Cheshire, Ellesmere Port and North Wales

A hospital has existed on the site since 1829 when it was a Lunatic Asylum but the hospital as it is known now was officially opened in 1984 even though the A&E department has been open the site since 1983.

The Countess of Chester Hospital is generally considered to be a high quality hospital, consistently receiving the 3-star rating in national performance charts.

There is car parking available on site but charges do apply depending on how long you stay, payment is a pay on foot method and charges collected go towards the hospitals Car park CCTV, 24 manned security and barrier secured car parks. There is a 30 minute drop of system which means there is no charge fpr the first 30 minutes of car parking.  There are some situations were car parking is free, for more information on this please visit the hospitals website.
