The Rough Hill road is closed to traffic with several emergency vehicles responding to a collision this afternoon.
UPDATE: One female casualty has been rescued from a vehicle by fire crews and is now in the care of paramedics along with two other people.
The incident has occurred just after the first left hand bend from the A483, with one blue Audi car on its roof in a ditch with another silver car badly damaged in the middle of the road.
The road was not formally closed as late as 4:30pm, with drivers turning themselves around from the A483 exit.
Cheshire Fire and Rescue confirm they are attending, saying: “Firefighters are currently at a road traffic collision involving two saloon cars near the A55 / A483 and Rough Hill roundabout in Chester. Please avoid the area if possible.”
