Chester firefighters showed their support to the White Ribbon Campaign in the city centre recently.
They were at the event with white ribbons on the fire engines, helping to raise awareness of domestic violence against women. They used the day as a great opportunity to engage with children and adults who enjoyed a look around the fire engines while the crew gave out fire safety advice.
The crowd included the Mayor and Mayoress of Chester who enjoyed the day which included the sign choir performing a montage of Christmas songs to get people into the festive spirit.
Crew Manager Ant McCarthy said: “Domestic violence should never be tolerated and I am glad we were able to show our support to this important campaign.
“Events like this are always a great way for us to talk to the local community, the kids love the fire engines and we get to pass on vital safety advice to the adults. Everyone had a great day and went home feeling very festive!”
